UL325 Safety Standard for Commercial and Industrial Door Operators

Miller Edge Sensors are in compliance with the 2010 UL325 safety standard for motorized commercial and industrial doors.

Effective August 29, 2010 all UL listed commercial and industrial door operators will be manufactured to require minimum entrapment protection features:

1. Constant Pressure on the close button,
   
   OR
   
   

2. Connection of a monitored Sensing Edge to the leading edge of the door,
   
   OR
   
   

3. Connection of a monitored photo eye within six (6) inches of the floor

Additional devices (not required to be monitored) are recommended.

When using momentary contact to close, commercial door operators manufactured after August 29, 2010, require a monitored edge sensor or photo eye.

Our Sensing Edges have been independently tested by Underwriters Laboratories with all major commercial door operator manufacturers and are approved as a recognized component for use as either the monitored device or the ancillary device on commercial door operators.
